Does the ram automatically retract? .. I need it to go up some after I release the foot pedal

The ram does not automatically retract when you take your foot off the pedal. You must manually open the release valve for it to retract. You can then close the release valve at any point during retraction and it will stop. Thanks for reaching out Alfred!

What is the differences in the economy vs std?

There are little differences you can see, such as the std has a food pedal and the economy doesn't, but the biggest differences are speed and quality. The Eco unit is much slower. The ram just doesn't move nearly as fast. The second is quality. They're made at different factories and the build quality of the std unit is simply better. Thanks for your queston!

All Redline presses carry a 1 year parts warranty, so if anything goes wrong, we'll ask you to send us pictures/video of the failed part. At that point, we'll ship the part to you for free, and you would be responsible for supplying the labor to install it. Please know it is not our policy to reimburse the customer for their labor. Has anyone ever used this as a press to forge Damascus knives?

I am impressed. The table is stable and doesn't rock. The ram moves side to side easily yet isn't loose. The winch works good. I really cant find anything about it that I'm not fully satisfied with. And that's very rare for me. It came almost fully assembled so setup took less than an hour. The ram and the hose going to it was even pre filled so I didn't even have to bleed air or add oil. I am impressed. This is definitely not the typical "made in china" quality.

Very solid and well designed piece of equipment with little frame spring at higher loads. Only issue I have found is that the hydraulic release is too low on the far right, slowing down release on production operations.

Press is very well constructed, and functions exactly how you would expect, with plenty of power even before the tonnage limit. Nothing on it seems cheap with no corners cut. Shipping was a bit of a nightmare due to unforseen circumstances in the freight world, but Redline was quick to do everything in their power to get the machine to us intact and complete. Would absolutely do business again.
