Can this be used with smaller compressor

You can use this with whatever size air compressor you like. The difference will be in how quick you lose sufficient working air pressure. In my experience, an 80 gallon 17 CFM compressor will run this decently, not great, but decently. If you don't have at least 10 CFM I would probably tell you to either buy a bigger air compressor or just don't bother attempting it. I hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us!
