    Q. What would you recommend to strip paint off fire hydrants.? Must be able to fit on a pick up truck. Could a air compressor be attached to maintain constant pressure.
    A. Any of these portable "pressure" blasters you're seeing will work fine. Just bear in mind you're going to need a gas powered air compressor. Something substantial that will offer a strong CFM, like probably 30 plus CFM. Don't be fooled by the specs you see that say these blasters will work with small amounts of airflow like 7 CFM. While that's true, it's not efficiently true. You will never be able to work efficiently with 7 CFM to blast a fire hydrant. It would literally take the entire day to do one hydrant. I hope this helps. I'd recommend picking out your blaster and then renting a compressor until you find something that works. Don't go buying a machine and hope it works. Rent it, confirm it, and then buy. Thanks Glenn.
