I have purchased the Kernell 11K TP11KC-DX lift and am in the process of building a shop. It states the recommended distance from the wall would be ideal at 16 feet, is this measured from the center of the post? or the front or rear edge of the bottom plate?

To be honest sir, either is fine. The longest vehicle on the road is about 22 feet long, so if you raise that vehicle and center it in the lift, it'll hang off about 11 feet in each direction. If your lift is 15 or 16 feet from the wall, it'll be fine. Just put it wherever you prefer, so long as it's not less than 12 feet from the wall. Thanks Kevin.
